Motion Analysis Laboratory
The human musculoskeletal system is an incredibly complex mechanism that constantly interacts with the environment in a very sophisticated way. Therefore, in some cases, foot mapping and general examination of walking and posture are not enough. Examination that is more thorough may be required, in order to obtain precise data regarding the functioning of the human mechanism. For this purpose, Avidor has established the Clinical Biomechanics Center, which is also called “The Motion Analysis Laboratory”.
Biomechanics is a field of science that explores movement patterns of the human body, as well as its overall mechanical properties. The central part of this science focuses on mapping and understanding the forces applied to the human body and the forces that the human body applies to the environment. Proper understanding of the interaction between these forces allows identifying risk factors affecting the musculoskeletal system. Such analysis is extremely important from the medical perspective.
Diagnostic sessions, carried out at the laboratory, are suitable for various populations, including:
- Amateur or professional athletes
- Soldiers
- Children
- Patients suffering from such unique medical conditions, requiring preventive diagnosis, as diabetes, arthritis and neuromuscular diseases.
The diagnosis is especially helpful if the patient suffers from problems, which are to detect, including:
- Foot pain
- Sore calves
- Knee pain
- Foot Callus
- Neuropathic ulcers
About the lab experts
The Motion Analysis Laboratory is managed and operated by the leading academic and medical experts. Laboratory Director, Prof. Moshe Ayalon, is a biomechanics specialist from the College of Physical Education, Wingate Institute. Another key staff member is Prof. Meir Niska, specialist in the field of orthopedics and ankle and foot problems, who serves as Orthopedics Department Director at Meir Hospital, Kfar Saba.
Our Motion Analysis Laboratory experts operate various sophisticated tools, including an advanced system for measuring foot pressure distribution, 3D system and a unique motion analysis software. Based on the biomechanical test results, our experts provide the patients with various recommendations: referral for orthotics or orthopedic shoes adjustment, referral for physical therapy, referral for further medical examination or for any other procedure as required.
